Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2011- 2011-11-21 14:16:24Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2011 8 – 12 December 2011 Kathmandu, Nepal The annual and competitive Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) will be organised by Himal Association from 8 – 12 December 2011. By screening some of the most recent and exciting films about mountain people, sports, environment, cultures and societies from various corners of the world KIMFF seeks to celebrate the complexity and diversity of mountain life. KIMFF 2011 coincides with Nepal Tourism Year 2011. As part of this effort the festival will feature a special selection of films that have been instrumental in putting Nepal on the world tourism map. KIMFF 2011 received 258 entries representing 54 countries during April- July 2011. KIMFF 2011 Film Selection Committee watched all the films and have selected 44 films. 17 films are vying for top three prizes of International Competition which comprises of USD 1500, USD 1000 and USD 500 respectively. 21 films are being screened as a part of International Non Competitive section and 6 films by Nepali filmmakers are being screened under Nepal Panorama section. Top three films from International Competitive section and best film of Nepal Panorama will be judged by a three member International Jury comprising of Helena Mielonen (Finland), John Innerdale (UK) and Sanjeev Uprety (Nepal). All films are eligible for Audience award.
